Last weekend, the September 11 attacks happened 10 years ago and still a lot of questions are unanswered. The 9/11 Commission was established not until 442 days after the attacks and grew largely out of pressure from families of victims, including four New Jersey widows who call themselves “the Jersey Girls“. Especially US-President George W. Bush was against a inquiry of the 9/11 attacks. (Matthew Purdy, “Despite First Impressions, Kean May Be a Good Second Choice“, New York Times, 22.12.2002). Finally, the 9/11 Commission Report comprise 567 pages. For comparison: after the assassination of the US-President John F. Kennedy, the Warren Commission was established by US-President Lyndon B. Johnson 7 days after the assassination and the final report comprised 888 pages. Nevertheless, a bungled 9/11 Commission Report does not mean inevitably a conspiracy of the US government is lying behind the 9/11 attacks, but all open questions about the 9/11 attacks should be answered by an independent commission.
Although people, who ask questions about the 9/11 attacks are stigmatized as conspiracy theorists, Daniele Ganser, PhD is one of the few researcher, who ask this questions. He is a Swiss historian and peace researcher at the University of Basel, who became known with his books about the secret NATO operation “GLADIO” (I will release a recording of one of Ganser’s lectures about “GLADIO” in a later post – unfortunately, it is in German). 1st of September 2011, Ganser gave a lecture about the open questions regarding the 9/11 attacks. Contrary to the title the lecture is less a historical investigation but rather the endless repetition of what Daniele Ganser perceives to be indications for a conspiracy of the American intelligence services with the military and the White House to have a legitimate reason to overthrow Iraq’w Saddam Hussein. And despite he pledges that he is only asking the relevant questions as a scientist he is strongly suggesting the MIHOP theory. And although he says that – as a serious scientist- one has to evaluate all three narratives for their plausibility he completely blanks out the facts that could undermine his own view.
For example the Pentagon: although not directly saying Ganser insinuates that it is nearly impossible that it was a plane that hit the Pentagon. BUT strangely enough a group of pathologists that had been engaged in the aftermath of the attacks identified all the passengers that were on the passenger list from the remains that were found in the ruins…
Or the Twin Towers: just because so far no steel building has collapsed follwing a fire it does not mean that could happen anyway. Especially, if the structure is damaged after a plane with about 180 tons has crashed into the building…
His argumentation becama totally absurd in my eyes when he introduced the bin Laden raid and insinuated that Operation Neputne’s Spear was probably a fake. Why should then even al Qaeda admit that bin Laden was dead?
Christian Simensen, senior scientist of SINTEF Materials and Chemistry (SINTEF is the largest independent research organisation in Scandinavia), has published in May 2011 in the journal Aluminium International Today a new explanation for the collapse of the twin towers. According to their theory, a mixture of water from sprinkler systems and molten aluminium from melted aircraft hulls created explosions that led to the collapse of the Twin Towers in Manhattan.
